A Keynote Opens the Door. This Walks Them Through It.

A great keynote creates a moment. But a moment fades if no one is handed the tools to keep it.

Most leadership development stops at inspiration. Leaders leave moved, then return to the same patterns by Monday.

The E.D.G.E. Intensive was built to make the shift stick, not with more information, but with hands-on practice in the exact skill their capacity depends on.

The keynote reaches everyone in the room. The workshop takes your leadership team all the way through the work.

Keynote in the morning. Deep, applied work in the afternoon.

The Keynote

The E.D.G.E. Intensive

The Unburdened Leader keynote in the morning. The Half-Day Workshop in the afternoon, two to three hours built around your team.

In the workshop, Dean takes leaders off the sidelines and into the work: naming their own Emotional Overhead, reviewing all five steps of the H.U.M.A.N. Bridge and walking one of them in full, and building a personal reset practice they'll use the same week.

They don't just understand the framework. They leave having run it, with a plan in hand and a nervous-system reset already underway.

It is the difference between hearing about change and walking out changed.

Your audience will walk away with:

  • A personal map of the Emotional Overhead affecting their leadership
  • Hands-on practice with all four steps of the E.D.G.E. Method
  • All five steps of the H.U.M.A.N. Bridge reviewed, with one walked in full
  • A 30-day on-ramp and a first application step, written in the room against their real challenges
  • A daily reset practice already underway before they leave the room

The Framework

The E.D.G.E. Method

Every step happens without a conversation, a confrontation, or anything required from anyone else. Nothing is excused, and no one is let off the hook. Each step earns the next.

E

Examine the Cost

Each leader names what they are carrying and what holding on is costing their capacity. Facts, not verdicts, and the leverage that makes the next step possible.

D

Decide to Release

With the cost now undeniable, each leader makes the deliberate choice to release: decisional forgiveness, a leadership decision rather than a moral one, real even before the feeling catches up.

G

Ground the Response

Leaders walk the H.U.M.A.N. Bridge themselves, settling the nervous system so the decision is no longer only head knowledge and the work ahead can take root.

E

Elevate Your Capacity

Tools they take home: a focused 30-day on-ramp, then a practice for the rest of their careers, genuinely replacing unproductive emotions rather than overruling them, with capacity returning the longer they are used.

Set It Down. Lead Unbound.

First they release. Then they lead.

The Experience

What Happens in the Room

The morning opens them up. The afternoon puts the tools in their hands.

Leaders move from recognizing the weight they carry to actively setting it down, together, in a room built for honesty and real work.

Dean guides each person through the full E.D.G.E. Method, applied to their own leadership, with leaders working the framework themselves rather than hearing it described.

They leave with a reset already begun, a plan already written, and a skill they can repeat for the rest of their careers.

That's what the Intensive leaves behind, long after the event ends.

The Speaker

Meet Dean

Dean Eric Smith is the Forgiveness Development Pioneer, creator of a rigorous, evidence-based discipline for releasing the Emotional Overhead that silently erodes executive judgment, presence, and capacity.

After forgiving and reconciling with the stepfather who murdered his mother, a journey captured in the award-winning documentary Live to Forgive, Dean built the frameworks that turn forgiveness into a leadership performance discipline. Twenty years speaking on forgiveness, coaching executives since 2013, a Master's in Organizational Leadership, and author of The Forgiveness Habit.

On stage, he's known for one rare gift: audiences laugh out loud one minute and wipe away tears the next. Levity is what keeps a room open to the heaviest subject a leader carries.
